HCMUD 370 Residents:

Harris County MUD 370 Board of Directors would like all residents to know that the District operator is prepared for the inclement weather we are experiencing. Below is information from your operator, TNG.

TNG Utility is moving forward with a proactive approach to the winter weather in our area. Provided below is an update on your water and lift station operational preparedness and highlighted are some key measures we have implemented to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of our services.

Winterization Protocols:

Our maintenance team has diligently executed winterization protocols to safeguard our infrastructure against the challenges posed by freezing temperatures. This includes insulating exposed pipes, conducting thorough inspections of critical facilities, and implementing preventive measures to mitigate the risk of frozen pipes and potential service disruptions.

  1. Inspect and Repair Infrastructure:
    • Conduct a thorough inspection of the entire water treatment facility, including pipelines, valves, pumps, and tanks.
    • Identify and repair any leaks, cracks, or damage to the infrastructure.
    • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
  2. Insulate Exposed Pipes and Equipment:
    • Insulate pipes, valves, and equipment that are exposed to the elements. Use appropriate insulation materials to prevent freezing.
    • Pay special attention to vulnerable areas, such as outdoor pipes and components located in unheated spaces.
  3. Maintain Heating Systems:
    • Ensure that heating systems are operational and set to maintain a suitable temperature within buildings and critical areas.
    • Regularly check and service heating equipment to prevent malfunctions.
  4. Heat Tracing:
    • Install heat tracing on critical pipes and equipment to maintain a consistent temperature and prevent freezing.
    • Ensure that heat tracing systems are functioning correctly and are adequately powered.
  5. Protect Instrumentation and Controls:
    • Insulate or install heat tracing on critical instrumentation and control devices to prevent malfunctions due to freezing.
    • Verify that all sensors and controls are working correctly.
  6. Drain and Winterize Unused Equipment:
    • If certain equipment or sections of the plant are not in use during the winter months, drain them to prevent freezing.
    • Properly winterize and store equipment that will not be used until warmer weather.
  7. Emergency Power Systems:
    • Ensure that backup power systems, such as generators, are in good working order in case of power outages during winter storms.
    • Test emergency power systems periodically to confirm their reliability.
  8. Water Quality Monitoring:
    • Continue monitoring water quality parameters regularly, adjusting treatment processes as needed.
    • Be vigilant for any changes in water quality that may be influenced by winter conditions.

Emergency Response Plan:

Our emergency response plan has been reviewed and updated to address any unforeseen challenges that winter weather may present. This plan outlines the steps to be taken in the event of extreme weather conditions, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to any operational issues.

Communication:

Clear and proactive communication is crucial during the winter months. We have established communication channels to promptly inform customers of any potential service interruptions, offer guidance on preventing freezing issues on their end, and provide real-time updates on the status of our operations.

Technology Integration:

Leveraging advanced technologies, we have integrated a new phone system that will allow our representatives to receive calls during working 7 non-working hours at remote sites.

Please call our office or emergency line you are in need of service; this will ensure that all assistance will be addressed. Please do not send emails as these may be lost within the collection of service contacts.

Thank you for your attention, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or require further information.
